ya... like the title says. everyone in my family ie my grandpas and grandmas, my grand aunts and grand uncles, my uncles and aunties , my cousins young and old and of course my immediate siblings all know me by my name kak cik. it seems that there is story behind the creation of this nickname. i used to call myself mek. that time i was around 2 years old my mum told me. She didn't quite fancy that name . How did i call myself mek? There was this kelantan lady who happened to visit my mum one fine day. she addressed herself as mek. its quite a common term amongst the eastcoast people. i supposed at that time , i was picking up new words and syllables ..., the name mek stuck on mind too well that it caused my mum much worry . She managed to drill into me another new 2 syllabled words and the rest is of course history. well, come to think of it , i am the only one amongst my sibblings with a name way off from my official registered name. well...even my best friend calls me kak cik now.. so officially my blog is also going to be named just that.
well, here is the beginning of new phase in my life. blogging. people say blogging is like striiping youself bare infront of millions of strangers. then again, it could just be me, the keypad and the screen. never mind, if it means pouring out my thoughts to this white screen.. its ok . back in the 1960s and 1970s, the diaries kept me company. but every year i opened a new diary book with new stories, new thoughts. wondered what happened to them. back then it was a case of do what every alice , aminah and ah lan do.... it was the thing to do . i suppose time have not changed human behavior. what used to be paper diary is now paperless diary.. the concept is still the same. back then, no one ever dared peeped into another person's private thoughts . but now people are welcomed to respond to one's postings. Oh well , times have changed...definetely.
to a person like me whose age is almost reaching the twilight years, it is going to be a great big adventure. perhaps the beginning of a new career ?
