Its the fourth day today. Of the birth of my first grandchild, a bouncy 3.68 kg baby boy who really did give his mum and his grandma a lot of anxious and alarming moments.
He finally arrived on the 25th of February at 1.30 in the morning . That was after 2 rounds of false alarms when at both times mum went to two different hospitals and finally when the the true moment arrived, his choice was the hospital nearest to home.
Well, it wasn't that bad actually. Wherever the government hospital it may be, I suppose they are trying very hard to cope with the large numbers of patients that sometimes we the public have to learn to understand. Well in the present times, there is always an alternative to things. You want first class treatment you go to places that offer you first class treatment. And everything comes with a price, and if you can afford it why not?
Well, as in the case of my daughter, it was her personal choice to go to the government hospital. Its something that I think all young couple would opt for.
And of course as parents sometimes, as much as you would like the best for your children, sometimes you have to learn to hold back and let them decide what is best for them.
But having said that, both hubby and I decided to take matters into our hands when the anxious mum was asked to return home despite showing the early signs of labour. And that was on the 23rd of February. And she was pacing the whole night of the 24th trying very hard to contain the pain that has started .
I would have thought that being private, the two hospitals that I rang up in the early morning of the 24th would accommodate my request to bring my daughter in . But both turned down my request, the first stating the fact that there were no beds available and the latter stating that they do not take in first time patients without prior record with them. I suppose they are been cautious in the decision. Not knowing the medical history of the 11th hour patient could affect their ability to do their best.
Anyway, whatever it was, the worst is almost over. It is not completely over because I have not seen my grandson. He is still in the Neonat ICU due to injury to his head during the vacuum process done on his mum, who had no energy left in her to push him out naturally. But dad has managed to snap a photo of him . So here is he. The first of the next generation in the Omarian family. The first great grandchild to Dato Wan Omar and Datin Wan Zahrah. The first grandnephew to all of my sisters and brothers and of course the first nephew to my daughter and sons.
Welcome aboard Aqil Sidqi bin Ali Mirza.

My first Grandson.
