Love isn’t alawys perfect.

 

Just the three of us in the house. A quiet and simple celebration for the man in my life, my bedmate, the father to my four lovely children and two lovely daughters in law and a son in law, a great grandfather who adores and dotes on  all of  his seven grandchildren.

 

Happy 68^th birthday dear love of my life. Thank you for the times together, at times the rollercoaster rides, the normal ups and downs of a married life. The expected miscommunications, brusied egos from both sides of the bed.

 

It has been my wish to marry someone who is more senior than me, in years and experience as my partner for life. And Allah has granted me that wish. Not 5 years as I wished for but four years my senior,but its okay Ya Allah. Thank you. Alhamdullilah. 

 

My wish ya Allah.That You will grant us more good years together.

 

Love isn’t always perfect.

It isn’t a fairytale or a story book,

And it doesn’t always come easy,

Love is overcoming obstacles,

Facing challenges, fighting to be together,

Holding on and never letting go. It is a short word, easy to spell, difficult to define and impossible to live without.

Love is work, but most of all,

Love is realizing that every hour,

Every minute and every second was worth it because you and I did it together.

 

The little things that seemed so small are now gold in a memory vault. I cherish every one I have of you. 

Thank you for being who you are . You are a loving father and grandfather and an amazing husband.

 

Happy Birthday to the love of my Life. Don’t let go of my hands, let’s grow old together till death do us part. May Allah continually bless us and our family. Aamiin ya rabal alamiin.

Congratulations and Jubilations

Today I celebrate! The Omarian clan celebrate !   For the fourth time, my  sister is again awarded  the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (APC, Excellent Service Awards) in  recognition for her excellent service as a government servant in her field. She is also a twice recipient for  the Special  Award 

(Anugerah Khas) from the Ministry where she works.  The APC is an annual performance appraisal program carried out by all departments in the civil service. The term performance appraisal refers to the regular review of an employee's job performance and overall contribution to their department. Also known as an annual review, performance review or evaluation, or employee appraisal, a performance appraisal evaluates an employee's skills, achievements, and growth, or lack thereof. Usually the top 5%  of the total number of staff with the highest score  will be given a special certificate to honour their excellent in job performance.  

To get  the APC for the fourth time means my sister is very consistent in her job performance . She does what she has to do, without fear or favour. 

 

So congratulations dear sis ! The whole Omarian family is proud of you. And of course, your humble answer ‘ just following the footsteps of my parents and siblings’ Yes, pak would be one proud father if he was around. I can see him now, all smiles !

And arwah mak too. 

 

Yes,   dearest sis, we owe our work ethics to our late father. A true blue government servant I would say. He was a man married  to his job . And I think most of us  takes after him . Remember our tag line whenever something similar that happened that we could relate to past events? Whether good or bad ? The common answer would be…..

 

It’s in the genes!!

 

And it is your genes dear sis! The good genes, that is. Despite all the odds against you, going through an illness almost similar to mine and other personal issues, you never once made that as a stumbling block to give your best, to always put your best foot forward come whatever .

 

So dear sis Wan Rufaidah bt Dato Hj Wan Omar, you deserve every bit of your success, all the best for the future. Your 4^th APC is well deserved . You are recognised for all the hard work you do. 

 

We are proud of you! Congratulations once again!!

 

To the future generations of the Omarian clan, if you are reading this, Tok Wan Zek,/Tok Lang/ Tok Nek/ Nenek Wan Zakiah ,  do hope the tag line still holds ya. 

 

It’s in the genes!!

 

Peganglah prinsip  bahawa niat paling baik untuk bekerja ialah “ibadah” Sekiranya ada yang diantara rakan sejawat serta ketua  kita yang menghargai  dan mengikhtiraf cara kerja kita, ucaplah  Alhamdulillah. Kalau tak ada pun, its ok sebab kita bekerja kerana Allah. Itu la pegangan datuk nenek kita. 

 

Allah SWT berfirman dalam Surah at-Taubah, ayat 105 yang bermaksud: 

“Dan katakanlah (wahai Muhammad): Bekerjalah kamu, maka Allah akan melihat pekerjaanmu, begitu juga Rasul-Nya dan orang-orang mukmin, dan kamu akan dikembalikan kepada (Allah) yang mengetahui yang ghaib dan nyata. Lalu diberitakan-Nya kepada kamu apa yang telah kamu kerjakan.”

Restless and anxious

 

The restless mind. Like something not good is about to happen. A mixture of sadness mixed with unsettled thoughts. Cannot seem to put a finger to that state of mixed emotions. Sad, depressed. Tired. Just want to be alone by myself. Please don’t ask me why . 

 

I remember this similar state of mind back the late 1970s when I was at the University. All of a sudden I switched mood to like what I was experiencing since early Thursday morning ( 4.12.2021) I felt sad and just wanted to be by myself . So I went to sit by the lake at the University grounds. I remember that was the year I resat for one of the papers. It was year two if I am not mistaken ( 1979?) .

 

And by late evening , I got news that my late father was rushed to the emergency unit, University Hospital. He had a heart attack!. I managed to see him  at the ICU unit. He was discharged a few days later. He passed away in 1998.

 

Just a while ago,  my daughter posted her status  in her social media account.  The  whole family are down with cough and flu! And this is day 4 after their trip from the Pangkor Island on last Saturday to Sunday.

 

Allahumma rabba al-nnas adhhibi al-ba'sa ishfi anta al-sshafi la shifa'a illa shifa'ula shifa'an la yughadiru saqaman.

 

 O Allah, O Lord of Mankind, remove the affliction and send down cure and healing, for no one can cure but You; so cure in such a way that no trace of illness is left.
