MAK is 75 THIS YEAR
It has been quite a while since my last posting. A month almost. Annually,in my calender keeping, the months of March and April are the busy months.Months of celebrations , mostly birthdays. As early as 13th March, my sis number three, Fatimah celebrated her 50th this year. Welcome to the club dear Mah.The golden club for golden ladies.
Then, its sweet sweet mum. She is 75 this year. Couldn't join her in the earlier birthday celebration but managed to see her in the evening. She looked so sweet. Just like she always does. She may not be so good in her memory capacity but health wise, Alhamdullilah. She still enjoys eating, she still enjoys her children. She loves being hugged . she enjoys the presence of her children. She still has her sense of humor. She enjoys her quiet moments as well as good company. I pray to the Almighty she will continue to live many more good years in good health. There is nothing, truly nothing,no matter how much - that we the children do - compared to the sacrifices that she and late father went through in raising us children .The struggles she went through . With dad being a workaholic and a perfectionist always away on his job especially during the late 1960s and early 1970s, mum was the one who cooked, cleaned and fed us.Sweet sweet dearest mum.She once asked me this question, many many years ago when pak was still alive " I am not sure too when I am old who will be there to take care of me.Do you think any of my children will open their doors when I knocked on them?"
Now many many years on, I pray and hope that what we are doing to her is okay to her.I don't think I am allowed to use the word enough> like I said before, nothing that we do will be enough compared to her years of sacrifices. I am not making excuses neither do I want to take advantage of the fact that I have a husband who understands that there are more daughters than sons in the family, but as a Muslim wife, husband is the top priority. That is different with sons of the family> Taking care of Mother is the son's responsibility, mandatory is the word.
Moving on, 23rd of March , kak , the eldest celebrates her 58th birthday. Happy birthday kak, our pillar of strength. Being the eldest and the most responsible. thank you kak for all your time and sacrifices. Though you went through a bad patch due to that illness, your support, time and energy never wavered, not even an ounce less that you used to. You kept on piling your support forever pushing on with your cheerful remarks and all. Keeping us close. Thank you Kak. May Allah bless you with many more good years of good health and good wisdom.
Now that we are in the 2nd month of celebration, thank you Aisyah for that most thoughtful birthday gift. A joint spa session with you. What more does a mother want. Hmm.... it was most interesting .... I must say.
Soon, it will be sister no 2"s big day. Wishing you in advance. Happy 52nd birtday from one golden lady to another.
Then on to Rufa, wishing you too.... Happy advanced birthday. You are going on 44..?
I pray for your good health. Eat well. Do us proud. I hope to live the day when you sit on the highest post in the civil service.
Moving on May...? Looking forward to mother's day celebration> Where to girls?
