Speciation and selection process. The rules of colonisation , the formation of the pioneer species with certain adaptive features to complete colonisation with the formation of the climax colonies of species suited to the particular region of land. These are some of the topics that I would teach to my students in Biology either at the upper secondary school level or at the sixth form level to the pre-university students.A barren piece of land, exposed to harsh weather, over time can one day become a secondary jungle. The pioneers that can survive such harsh conditions would survive , with their adaptive features , slowly changing the land conditions which will then become more conducive to other plant species and this cycle will continue until one fine day it will be good enough to allow the sprouting of big trees with tap root systems and all , which in scientific term is called the climax community.

Picture that in terms of the human colony. What was once a colony ruled by a certain group of people, simple peace-loving, perhaps too peace -loving and compromising and giving, that these people allowed the outside force easily to upstage them without much fight. All because in the name of goodwill and peace. How in the first place these peace loving people were able to create such harsh conditions that could allow the formation of new pioneers in their own land.

The trouble was, these peace loving and compromising attitudes were only meant for those outside their tribes.But within their tribes, there were intense jealousies and backstabbing was almost a norm amongst these tribe of people.In terms of biology, its called intra species competition. It got so intense that people outside the tribe seized this opportunity to move in, at the right time, right place to replace these native tribes.

Unlike the plant colony, these new group do not take time to go through the speciation process. Harsh and drastic measurements were undertaken over a short period of time. So much so, a person with no background knowledge or history of this native land , upon visiting this land would think that this is what it was and what it will continue to be forever.

So, what happen to the natives of this land then?

Well, if you can get to meet one amongst the crowds of thousands of non-natives on the main streets you can count yourself lucky.

So, what is the ultimate climax community created? Something so very different from what it was once upon a time.

Its kinda of sad especially if you are also from that group of natives, maybe not in that particular spot of land, but still in the same basket of the archipelago.

So, it got me thinking. Will the spot where I am now be like that land spot?

I have my worries if we continue to be peace-loving compromising people to those only outside our tribe and yet amongst ourselves to continuously bicker and back stab one another. The vultures are the new pioneers to our beloved motherland.And they have been sharpening their adaptive features real well and sharp, long enough to just move in and form the long awaited climax community where believe me, the word compromise is not a term that is upper-most in their vocabulary of words.

I don't know if this is what the majority of the tribe members want? If so, what do we get out of this deal? More peace amongst other tribes? Less inter species competition or what?

I simply cannot picture myself to one day visiting my own motherland , which was once ruled by my own native people , peace-loving compromising people to one that is totally alien , all in the name of compromise , peace and good will and equality?

Equality ?? you have got to be kidding!!
