The vaccination.

 

12.45 pm	Left home with husband to head towards IDCC Shah Alam. Traffic was ok. The GPS messaged to expect a 34 minute journey to the centre. Traffic was smooth. There were cars on the road but manageable. The journey took us  through the Duke Highway.
	Cleared the Subang toll. And was stopped by a young army guy on duty .Took out my phone to flash him the appointment details. He acknowledge and waved his hands to allow exit.
	From the toll to the vaccination centre in Section 15 was about 6km away, about 5 mins drive.
1.38 pm	Arrived at the centre. Was not too sure of the actual place. Husband decided to park the car at a spot just outside the entrance. A minute later to be  informed by the guard on duty that we could drive up to the 6th level of the building, The vaccination centre will be on the 7Th floor.
	Arrived at the  6th level. There were many parked cars. Took a spot at the 6B area. Walked to the entrance
	A long line of people were in queue . The first check-up. Scanned the entrance permit
	Was ushered by the guards to a row of seats just outside the hall. There was already a group sitting down to wait for instructions.
	The  waiting group was instructed to leave and we were told to take our seats. It was about 5 mins later that we were instructed to move to the hall entrance. But again another stop at the entrance area. Were told to take a seat. The volunteers on duty started to distribute forms. We were told to not put down our signature. I looked at the form. It was similar to the one I received on 1.6 when I wanted to try my luck to get vaccination on the same day as my husband at the Mitec but was subsequently rejected due to the difference in the type of vaccination. His was Pfizer while this shot at IDCC will be of the AZ type. Took out my pen to fill in the relevant details leaving the signature column empty. A slip indicating the number was stapled to the main form. Mine read 0915
	Was instructed to enter the hall  and proceed to station one. Waited for the number to be called.
	My number was called.. the first station checked on the details, the ID , phone number . I was told to tab on the first dosage to confirm once again.
	Then to station no 2 to see the doctor in charge. There were about 20 tables. It was at random. Any person vacating the seat will be replaced by the next person. I was interviewed by a young lady doctor. The usual string of questions. Any  major illness, any allergy to any medications. It was a quick interview. The next instruction was to go to station  no 3 for the vaccination.
	Arrived at the station and was immediately called by the nurse on duty. Once again to scan my details. She took out the bottle, showed me the amount, I think about 5 ml in quantity.  A procedure to ensure the public that the right amount was given. A quick shot and it was over. My watch recorded the time at 2.38 pm
	Was told to move to station No 4 to wait for the next course of instructions. There were about 5 tables. The numbers were called out at random, depending which ones get processed . It was quite a wait. Soon my number was called, about 15 minutes later. I was given a card ,to bring to the centre for the second jab. To check on the MS apps for the next date. To expect a 12 weeks wait. Maybe earlier . was then instructed to move to station no 5 to sit for 15 minutes but since the waiting  at station No 4 was about 15 minutes we decided to skip the station. But was advised to sit in for about 10 to 15 minutes or so.
	Moved to station no 5. There was a video on play. It was about what to expect for the after effect of the jabs. I decided to record the short clip. After 5 minutes we took our leave. Again the final check by the volunteers to ensure that everything was in order.
	Stopped at a stall outside the hall. Bought a bottle of hand sanitiser, to replenish the empty bottles at home. The next stall was a young gentlemen selling the Japanese Udon . Decided to buy two cups to take home. Then stopped at the photo booth to record the event. A photo shoot – I have been vaccinated. Then the final stop at the Nestle booth to receive free gifts from the company- a box of Milo drink and 2 packets of Maggie mee  Cili kampung flavour, (a new flavour introduced on the market)
	Stopped once again at a roadside stall on the  road out. Bought 2 kebabs. The clock was already 4.11 pm. Needed to rush home for the zohor prayers.
	Arrived home at about 4.20 pm. Immediately  went straight up to the bath room to shower and change into fresh clothes.
	After prayers it was finally lunch time. Had the Udon and a cup of coffee. Went straight to bed to lie down.
	Received a call from son in Cardiff. Talked for  awhile . Then I dozed off , dead to the world. No after effects so far. Switched on the diffuser, dropped  a few drops of lavender essential oils and  I lost consciousness. .
11.6.2021 3.45 a.m	For the first time  in many nights, I slept through the night. Was awoken with a slight pain at the jab area, That was about 3.45 am on the 11.6.2021
	Started to feel the chills. Performed my sunnah prayers. Feeling feverish . The temperature read 36.7C . Just a slight warm actually.
	A slight throb on the right side of the head. Not intense. Am contemplating whether to take the paracetamol but will wait out in a little while.
5.14 am	Finished my jottings. Will wait out before the next steps,
6.10 am	Took in 2 Panadol soluble  after a light breakfast of chicken floss on dry toast.  The body temperature is starting to rise. Feeling the chills
7.30 am	Temperature back to normal. The chills are gone , so is the lingering headache.
2.25 pm	Another dose of paracetamol. Put on socks and jacket to keep warmth plus doble layer blankets
10.30 pm	Another dose of Panadol. The chills and headache is on.
12.6.2021	Still not too good. Wanted to take in another dose of paracetamol but dear husband thinks I should take a mug of hot water to ease the chills. Drank 2 mugs and off to sleep after a breakfast of poached egg on dry toast.
	Off and on . Woke up to perform prayers. Water felt extra cold.  After prayers its back to bed . This time with a heavier and thicker blanket Headache is still bad.
6.15 pm	Woke up to the alarm. Late asar  today. Headache is cleared. Alhamdullilah. Shukur Ya Allah atas nikmat yang Engkau kurniakan. The fever has subsided. Went down for dinner prepared by chef Syiqin. Couldn’t finish the rice. Everything still tasted bland. Instead grabbed a chocolate cookie that Asyiqin made last week. Felt a lot better with a mug of hot coffee.
13.6.2021	Alhamdullilah. The headache has cleared and the fever is gone. Blue skies and everything nice once again.   But not so soon. The advice that I read on the monitor at station 5 was to self-monitor for the 30 days for drastic changes in the  body health. Insyaa ALLah.

 

My appointment was at 2.30 pm. By 2.38pm I had already had my vaccination! The whole process was fast and smooth. The staff were very professional in their jobs. Each complementing the other, great teamwork.  Salute and a big thank you to all!
