When, Where and How Allah Tests Us.

 

Just a few days ago, I had a conversation with my youngest .I posed my concern that she was still going to work. Why the on off work from home and now full time again at the office. 

 

Apparently her employer didn’t want to fully close down her premis. Instead she offered an option to the parents whose kids ranged from 3 to 6 years old. First option was for those parents who wished their children to stay home will study online. And those who chose to come to school will be attended to by the teachers at school. 

 

I expressed my worry about the risk of exposure . 

 

On Friday evening  after work, she received a message from her employer to inform that one of her class kid was tested and confirmed positive covid. Isolation from both of us was the minute she arrived from work that Friday evening. Her normal ritual would always to go straight up to her room to wash and changed into a new set of clothes. 

 

That night she was coughly really badly. 

 

On Saturday morning, as soon as the pharmacy opened, my husband  bought the self test kit. She  swabbed her first test on Saturday afternoon and it was negative.By evening she was running a temperature. The cough continued.

 

I made her hot honey lemon to drink , flasks of them since that Friday night. All the medicines that was needed were quickly purchased and placed in her room. Trays of food and other essentials were placed outside of her door.

 

Her second test this morning was confirmed positive.  

 

We tried many times to contact clinics  ( both private and community) to go for  further verification. But all were closed. 

 

This evening after several attempts we managed to connect to the CAC helpline. We were informed to take the copy of the test result to the local community clinic tommorow morning. And follow up will start as soon as we receive call from KKM ( the Ministry of Health) 

 

One crucial question that I forgot to ask. Should the covid postive come to the clinic tommorow or just one of us to submit the report? Or maybe they will want to do  another test on her to verify.

 

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims. [7:126]

 

Allah said in the Quran:

 

And seek help in patience and As-Salah and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for humbly submissive [to Allah] [2:45].

 

The moment a trial strikes you, remember to be patient. The Prophet said, The real patience is at the first stroke of a calamity. [Sahih Al Bukhari]

 

Allah describes those who are patient in the following verses:

 

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, who, when disaster strikes them, say, ‘Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return.’ Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. [2:155-57]
