22.2.024
Its yo-yoing. Sometimes its low sometimes its high.
Just yesterday morning it was 5.0. Suddenly this morning its 7.1! What a big jump.
The morning started off with coffee with monk fruit sweeter and a dash of low fat milk. Then followed by a plate of cut guava, strawberries and papaya, peanuts and youghurt.
And it was off for a brisk walk around the lake at a pace of 14 min 40seconds for 43 minits. Breakfast was wrapped veggies, just a dash of Lingam’s extra spicy chili sauce.
At around 11 am went to Puchong Light house to get lightings and fans for Atif’s apartment. On the way home, stopped at the mamak resturant at Park Place. Decided to indulge in a plate of rojak pasembor. Had that at home with a cup of flitered HS coffee. The sauce was heavily laced with white sugar. Tok Sam fried fish fillet. Had that wrapped.
By late evening hunger pang once again. Decided on a few slices of dry biscuits (flour, carbohydrate). washed down with another cup of coffee. Before turning in, had a mug of green tea, apple cider, a twist of lemon juice and a teaspoon of organic cinnamon powder. This concoction is sending me to a deep slumber. Just started about 2 nights and it is effective.
What is the source of food that is causing this spike ? I think it is the wrap.
The main component is of course carbohydrate. Per serving: - 22 g carbo of which 1.7 gm is sugar. The flour use is unbleached wheat flour and wholemeal flour. Again, bottom of the list wheat flour and corn starch. In conclusion these flours are the main culprit.
I have been monitoring my glucose level for almost 3 months now. And jotting down the foods that could cause sudden spikes in the glucose level.
Why the obsession? I can’t afford to be a full-blown diabetic patient. Already I am on medication for my thyroids being removed, my BP, my cholesterol.
Keeping my glucose readings to just at 6.0 mmol/l would be just fine. Going down to about 5 mmol/l would be excellent.
