You can’t get enough of it

There is so much information out there on the social media. One can’t help but wanting to go through all of them. And it is definitely not possible!  Too many ! You will   need to spend hours  just catching up with all the happenings. And it is big time happening … it’s a money making business now. All that you need  to do is to create stories, open your account to all

(no private account please) and depending on how interesting your story is, how impactful it is to the public… and soon you will be raking in lots of money!! But one need  to continously produce stories… its  about sustaintability. Many out there are making it their full time job. Sometimes the whole family are on board. So , does that mean the children are all on home based schooling? Where and when do they find the time to think of ideas, plan the script, act out, edit and then post them online, almost everyday ..at least one a day.  It definetely is not a simple task I’d reckon.

The storyline and materials are diverse. Simple everyday life..  singles, couples, family..funny,happy, sad, heart wrenching. The scenes may be real and sometimes staged !  Step by step cooking, reviews of popular eating spots, holidays spots, places to visit , politics…the list is endless ! And for those who are religious and want to keep close to the Almighty, there are many accounts that focus on sermons, prayers and lots of advice to do good. In fact anything goes… as long there is a ready audience to follow your products! But be prepared. If you have a slot for comments… there are people who are just there to give comments… good , inspiring comments and of course an equal number of hate and nasty comments! You must be prepared to take them all in, with a pinch of salt ( or spoonfuls of them!).So, if you can’t stand the heat, don’t.. then at the end of the day, you will be all stressed out. Sometimes its not worth it. But having said that, there are influencers who love to create controversies..simply. And they do have a fairly large number of followers. And by the look of things, reading the comments ( the good as well the as the  nasty ones) , one would assume that they celebrate these differences in opinions. In fact , I suspect they thrive on these mixture of comments. Because the more visits they get from the public, the more views they get equals more money earned!

And of course,at the opposite end of the spectrum , there are  accounts that are equally active but these accounts are closed accounts . These group of persons  are those who are not out to get viewership in terms of popularity. Its more of writing , sharing  one’s journey with close friends and family.Occasionally, you do get request to ‘follow’ but not all get approved. Its a personal choice whom I would like to join on board on my journey. But one thing for sure, my writings are quite personal, mostly on personal experiences, holidays with families, personal thoughts and most of all as a memoir for my next generation. Insha allah. I am leaving a piece of me here on this blog and also on my two accounts on the social media. This is therapy for me. Writing and recalling past times do infact help folks in their golden age years. To keep the mind active, simply expressing yourself will boost your brain activity.Apparently, studies have shown that writing improves working memory and communication abilities. In the end, it doesn’t matter what you write because simply expressing yourself will boost your brain activity.

So, what would be the next trending apps on the sosial media? Will it be happening soon or perhaps 20 years down the road? Only time will tell. Until the next innovation, lets play pretend for a little longer….
