My trips to the hospital

Everytime I made the trip to the hospital, I will always come back tired and drained of whatever energy is left in my bones. It’s a most exhausting  process. From waking up in the morning, getting ready about 2 hours to start the journey before the appointed time. Normally the time it takes to reach the hospital would be about  almost one hour .  Then being dropped off at the entrance , either at the RUKA , the South wing or the East wing. Then its about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the appointed place. Cannot walk too fast because if  I were to do that, my pulse rate would shoot sky high. I can feel the heart pumping rapidly.

Then its the wait. After that it another wait at the pharmacy to collect the medicines prescibed by the doctor.Nowadays the pharmacy is full of patients waiting for their medicines. Sometimes it is just standing room, spilling to the outside corridoor. And it can be for full one hour of waiting! And they don’t give you the full supply. To come back the next 2 months to replenish stock! Alhamdullilah , recently they introduce delivery of medicines via courier service. Saves the miles and hours to come to the pharmacy just to restock my medicines.

Of course, after that another hour of journey home. By the end of the whole routine I just want to creep into bed, under the sheets and sleep off the tired bones. But overtiredness of the whole body  system sometimes became too difficult to close my eyes and take the much needed rest. The next day hangover could even include slight rise in body temperature, sniffles and cough….

There will be another appointment for this month of November, the fourth this month. Next  week on  Monday morning. And that means starting a lot earlier than usual. Monday morning ttraffic is normally bad.

One month off in December!! And its on again … 5th January 2023. Currently, it is 6 different departments:-oncology, endocrine, RUKA , Bio Medicine Imaging, Optical, Surgery Clinic. And of course , in between the appointments, there will be the collection of the mandatory blood specimen for the various departments!

In the meantime,

Just breath…

You are strong enough to handle challenges, and wise enough to do whatever needs to be done. Just keep going.

To quote :

On the other side of a storm is the strength that comes from having navigated through it. Raise your sail and begin.
